ROUND 12 - Division One PREVIEW

With Round 12 upon us we take a look at all 9 games for a round which could be season defining for coaches/teams in the Top 8.

Essendon v Geelong - Essendon have been one of the inform sides in the competition, losing just 2 games from 11 rounds with their last loss coming against Gold Coast in Round 9. Can Geelong continue their winning form, after a shaky start to the season being 1-3 after Round 4 they have brought it back under control sitting 7th and 2 games out of the Top 4. Can they make it 5 in a row against the Bombers at the 'G?

Gold Coast v Port Adelaide - The Suns will be looking to maintain their undefeated run against Port Adelaide at home, Port Adelaide have been competitive in their last few games after a very slow start from one of the AFL's powerhouses winning just 1 game from their 10 games. Gold Coast should get it done but lookout for the Power to be competitive.

Hawthorn v Fremantle - Hawthorn will be looking to claw themselves into the Top 4 with a should win game against the Dockers at the 'G. Fremantle has also been a side who have underachieved in Season One but are all but certain for relegation into Division Two from Season Two. Hawks should win in a landslide.

GWS Giants v Sydney - The odds arent heavily one sided for no reason, Sydney will be looking to go 12 straight with a win in Round 12 away in the first Battle of the Bridge Derby. Swans should win comfortably here.

St Kilda v Richmond - Two sides who are still a realistic chance of a finals dream with the Tigers a game and percentage out of the 8 and the Saints in the same boat, Richmond more of a chance with the healthier percentage but they'd want to win this one comfortably.

Brisbane v Collingwood - The Lions are an interesting one, they could drop this or win it by 150+ points, The Pies would want to win this one or come close and gain some percentage with the Crows sitting in the Relegation Zone breathing down there neck.

Western Bulldogs v Carlton - One of the games of the round (if not game of the round) at Marvel Stadium, Blues have been very wobbly in the past few rounds in the coaches box, can they turn it around here? The Dogs have been a very good side and currently inside the Top 8, should be a very tight game at Marvel.

Melbourne v Adelaide - Demons coming off a loss to Geelong and a draw with Collingwood, they'd want to get the job done over the Crows at home if they want to avoid being relegated to Division Two.

West Coast v North Melbourne - Both teams fighting for a spot in the 8 if one of the teams in the 8 slip up, North have the healthier percentage sitting just under 115% but West Coast having low 80s. Will be a very tight contest in the West.
