MCLEAN BOOTS FIVE AS THE YOUNG SWANS REIGN SUPREME AT NORTH SYDNEY OVAL

In a thrilling pre-season clash between the Sydney Swans and the West Coast Eagles, fans were treated to an intense display of Australian rules football at the packed North Sydney Oval. With 12,000 spectators roaring from the stands, the stage was set for a gripping encounter.

The match kicked off with both teams displaying fierce determination, but it was the West Coast Eagles who asserted their dominance early on, controlling the game on the inside. However, the Sydney Swans showcased their agility and skill, gaining early momentum with their uncontested play on the outside.

As the game progressed into the second quarter, the West Coast Eagles found their rhythm, unleashing a flurry of goals to level the playing field. With six goals to their name, they brought the game back to an even keel, setting the stage for an exhilarating contest.

But it was in the pivotal third quarter, often dubbed the "premiership quarter," that the Sydney Swans seized control of the match. With a relentless display of skill and determination, they surged ahead, leaving the West Coast Eagles struggling to mount a comeback.

In the end, it was the Sydney Swans who emerged victorious, clinching the win by a margin of 28 points. Hayden McLean and Joel Amartey emerged as standout performers for the Swans, with McLean slotting an impressive five goals, while Amartey contributed three of his own. Young half-back Cooper Vickery shone brightly in his role, showcasing his talent in Oliver Florent's absence.

In the midfield, Angus Sheldrick proved to be a force to be reckoned with, providing the Swans with a solid presence and contributing to their commanding performance.

Despite the loss, the West Coast Eagles had their own standout performers, with Dom Sheed racking up 28 disposals and booting three goals, while Tim Kelly also impressed with 28 disposals and two goals to his name.

Both teams walked away from the match with a sense of satisfaction, buoyed by their strong performances as they look ahead to one more round of pre-season action before the highly anticipated Star Footy Premiership Season kicks off.
